At 131.6 metres (30 storeys) high, the tallest building in Adelaide is 91 King William Street. It was constructed in 1988 for the State bank of South Australia. After the collapse of the State Bank, the building was tenanted for a number of years by the mining corporation Santos. Santos' lease expired in mid-2007 and Westpac Bank moved in. During May and June the blue letters of Santos on the top of the building were removed and replaced by the big red W of the Westpac logo. Since July 2007 the building has been called Westpac House.
The tallest built structure in South Australia is the Port Pirie Smelter stack at a height of 205 metres.
