Description : |
The outbreak of World War One produced a large quantity of patriotic songs. These songs frequently reflect incidents of Australian involvement and the national perception of Australia's role in the war. By 1919 the digger had become held in high regard, 'We'll cheer a good sport, and a jolly good sort, for the digger's a bit of alright.' - last line of this piece |
