To mark the Centenary of Federation and to aknowledge the role of women in Australia's history, the Victorian government compiled a list of 127 Australian women who had made their mark. South Australians on the list included Sister Mary MacKillop, author Catherine Helen Spence, politician Janine Haines, arts activist Robyn Archer, and judge and governor Dame Roma Mitchell. |
